LLM-Con: Large-Language Models for Constraint Modelling

Date:

Together with Tias Guns (KU Leuven) and Serdar Kadioglu (Brown University & Fidelity Investments), I co-presented the IJCAI-ECAI 2026 tutorial on Large Language Models for Constraint Modelling. Constraint Programming and Operations Research are powerful for optimization, but modelling remains a bottleneck. This tutorial surveyed LLM-assisted approaches for generating constraint models from natural language, covering pipelines, intermediate representations, retrieval-augmented and agentic methods, fine-tuning, and evaluation.

I presented the session on benchmarking and evaluating LLMs for constraint modelling. Tutorial website: https://sites.google.com/view/ijcai26-llm-con
